TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER – FIELD BASED (SOUTH)

We’re recruiting for a hands-on, experienced Technical Service Engineer with excellent customer facing skills as well as strong technical experience with professional coffee stations. This is a field based role (company car included) suitable for someone experienced in delivering training and who possesses strong influencing skills.

The Technical Service Specialist reports to the Operations Manager and manages outsourced / third party technical service. You are responsible for the effective technical management of the active machine park in the south of the UK. This role sits within the ‘professional’ business and includes customers such as offices, hotel groups, pubs and bars, health and care, wholesalers and contract catering. The Operations department in ‘Professional’ is responsible for the end-to-end execution of all commercial deals with the customers including Field Services (installation, movement, de-installation of machines, repairs and maintenance).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting third party partners in the set-up and development of their Field Services organisation
  • Providing consultation to third parties regarding field service job profiles and skills/experience required
  • Monitoring and advising on service cost and performance, safeguarding quality standards
  • Coaching and providing machine insight/technical training/field support
  • Rolling out of new company procedures, processes and training
  • Audit third party technician’s adherence to company processes and the roll out of new procedures and training
  • Negotiating and managing local machines providers with support and full visibility to International Technical team
  • Regularly liaises with sales team to understand customer needs and make joint recommendations for service-related improvements
  • Optimises local machine park and delivers related AOP targets
  • Support Sales and Marketing with agreed customer meetings, shows and exhibitions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree educated, or equivalent with technical specialisation
  • Business acumen combined with an entrepreneurial approach; ability to identify and act upon business opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Solid experience in third party technical management
  • Experience in working in a technical environment
  • Experience in developing and delivering technical training
